Last day to vote in MN Presidential Nominating Primary:

 

The Last day to vote in MN Presidential Nominating Primary is March 5th.  If you have a mail-in or absentee ballot get it to the Hubbard County Court House by March 4th.  Otherwise go to your local polling place on March 5th anytime from 7 am to 8 pm.

Type in your address numbers and then use the the drop down menu in the next box to find your street name.  (the numbered streets for example 1st Ave is listed first. Keep scrolling and named streets are listed in alphabetical order.)

Remember in Minnesota you can register at your polling place on the same day you cast your ballot.  You will need:

  • Your Minnesota driver’s license or Minnesota identification card number, or the last four numbers of your Social Security number
  • An email address
  • To be eligible to vote in Minnesota

You will need to re-register if your name or address changes.

Make your plan: Attend your caucus

GOP and DFL Chairs each wrote an article in the Park Rapids Enterprise about the importance of attending your caucuses. Below are the Hubbard County caucus locations as listed in their articles. 

Now is the time to make your voice heard.

 

 

 

 

From Ben Englund:  As chair of the Hubbard County Republicans, I encourage readers to attend and get involved in the process, and become a delegate, alternate or precinct chair for the next two years, and help us steer the party, state and country in the right direction.

It all starts at the caucus at 7 p.m. on Feb. 27, with registration starting at 6:30 p.m.

Locations are below for the following precincts:

Park Rapids Century School (cafetorium), 501 Helton Avenue, Park Rapids – Arago, Clay, Clover, Henrietta, Hubbard, Lake Emma, Straight River Twp and Todd (both P-1 and P-2) townships and city of Park Rapids (both P-1 and P-2).

Akeley Regional Community Center, 210 Pleasant Avenue SE, Akeley – Akeley (both P-1 and P-2), Badoura, Crow Wing, Mantrap, Nevis, Steamboat River( (both P-1 and P-2), Thorpe and White Oak townships, city of Nevis and city of Akeley.

Laporte School (community room), 315 Main Street West, Laporte – Farden, Fern, Guthrie, Hart Lake, Helga, Hendrickson, Lake Alice, Lake George, Lake Hattie, Lakeport (both P-1 and P-2), Rockwood and Schoolcraft townships and city of Laporte.

From Brian Hobson: The Hubbard County DFL caucuses are Tuesday, Feb. 27. Registration begins by 6:30 p.m., with call to order at 7 p.m.

Here are the locations, depending upon where you live:

Laporte School, 315 Main Street West, Laporte – Townships of Hart Lake, Steamboat River, Lakeport, Lake George and Hendrickson or city of Laporte.

Nevis School, 210 Pleasant St. Nevis – Townships of Crow Wing Lake, Mantrap, Nevis, White Oak, Thorpe, Badoura and Akeley or the cities of Nevis or Akeley.

Helga Township Town Hall, 25895 County 9, Bemidji – Townships of Farden, Fern, Lake Hattie, Schoolcraft, Lake Alice, Guthrie, Helga or Rockwood.

Park Rapids High School, 401 Huntsinger Ave. Park Rapids – Townships of Clover, Clay, Todd, Arago, Henrietta, Hubbard, Lake Emma and Straight River or the city of Park Rapids.

So if the spirit moves you, please attend your caucus. But if you are unable, please, please vote in the upcoming primary and general elections.

And finally, it should be pointed out that, since Minnesota has switched to a presidential primary, there will be no presidential preference ballot at the precinct caucus. The presidential primary will be held on Tuesday, March 5.

 The Program answered many questions as to how the parties pick delegates and pass resolutions.

Reminder: Early voting for the Nominating election started January 19th. You can vote absentee at home or at your local court house.  On March 5th your local polling place will be open.
