2026 Candidate Forums for Park Rapids Area (Hubbard County)

2026 Candidate Forums | LWV Park Rapids Area

The League of Women Voters (LWV) Park Rapids Area hosts nonpartisan candidate forums for local contested offices featuring two or more candidates. All eligible candidates were invited, and scheduling accommodations were made to maximize participation.
(see our home page for times/dates of all forums)

Our mission is to foster civil discussion on key issues and equip voters with the necessary information before casting their ballots.

Submit Questions for Candidates

All forum questions originate directly from the public.

  • Submit Questions in Advance: Email your questions to lwvparkrapids@lwvmn.org. Please include the specific forum name and date in the subject line.

  • Privacy Assurance: Per League policy, all submitter identities remain strictly confidential, and personal identifying details are removed before the event.

  • In-Person Submissions: Attendees may also submit written questions during the forum in accordance with forum rules.

Question Review & Guidelines

To cover as many topics as possible within the allotted time, the League screens and consolidates similar questions. Questions of a personal nature, or those that are inappropriately hostile or unclear in intent, will not be asked.

Forum Rules & Audience Expectations

To ensure a fair, respectful environment for both candidates and voters:

  • Candidate Ground Rules: Participating candidates receive a clear set of rules prior to the event. (click to view a copy of ground rules )

  • Audience Decorum: Please remain as quiet as possible so everyone in the room and watching online can hear clearly. Audience disruptions impact candidate response time. If people are disrupting the forum, they will be asked to leave.

  • Applause: Please hold all applause or other reactions until the conclusion of the forum to preserve maximum time for candidate answers.

Voter Resources

  • Preview Your Sample Ballot: Review candidates and ballot measures customized to your residential address on the Minnesota Secretary of State Official Ballot Portal or on VOTE411 Voter Guide.

  • Planning Ahead: Sample ballot details are updated approximately 45 days before an election. You can print your personalized sample ballot to bring to the candidate forums and your polling place.

If you have questions for your candidates please contact them directly, their contact information is included in their filing documents with the Secretary of State's Office.
