Menahga School Board Candidate Forum: October 24th


The public is welcome to attend and participate in a Menahga School Board candidate forum at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24 at the Menahga School media center, sponsored by the Park Rapids Area League of Women Voters.

Candidates invited to participate are Katie Howard, Anna Skaro and Bob Smith. Howard is the incumbent, appointed to the school board in January 2017. The election will be Tuesday, Nov. 7. A building referendum is also on the ballot.

The League sponsors candidate forums to educate the public about issues, provide an opportunity for voters to hear candidates discuss their positions face-to-face, stimulate public interest and participation in elections and provide an opportunity for candidates to engage their constituents.


Questions for the Menahga forums may be submitted by e-mail to lwvparkrapids@lwvmn.org no later than noon Saturday, Oct. 21. Please put Menahga forum in the subject line. Questions also may be submitted at the event. Pencils and paper will be provided or bring your questions with you. League members will collect audience questions to be screened. The names of those who submit questions via e-mail and at the forum will remain confidential.

The audience will be invited to stay for coffee and cookies following the event.

The League of Women Voters Park Rapids Area, a nonpartisan 501(c)3 political organization, encourages informed and active participation of citizens in government and influences public policy through education and advocacy. Membership is open to all. Membership information will also be available at the candidate forum.
